Oakland remains a proud Sanctuary City committed to standing with our immigrant families. City leaders are actively monitoring this situation and are in touch with Oakland's state and federal delegation.

Throughout my over three decades representing our community in Congress and the California State Legislature, I've dedicated my career to fighting for justice, opportunity, and the people who need it most. I understand Oakland's struggles because this is my home. Now, as your mayor, I bring that same unwavering commitment to tackle our most pressing challenges, from homelessness to public safety, with the experience and federal, state and local relationships needed to deliver real resources and real solutions for every Oakland resident.
